The government is now going to give every person an easy opportunity to join the lottery worth Rs 1 crore. For this, you just have to get into the habit of taking GST bill on the purchase of any goods or using the service. The government has planned to start a lottery from April 1 as part of measures to prevent misappropriation in Goods and Services Tax (GST).
There will be a draw every month
Under this arrangement, every month, every bill of the transaction between the shopkeeper and the buyer will be included in the lucky draw. An official said that in this lottery, consumers can get a reward of up to one crore rupees. According to the news agency PTI, every month a reward of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1 crore will be given in the lucky draw.
How to participate in the lottery
The GST network will have a mobile app for this. To join this lottery, consumers have to scan the receipt of any purchase and upload it on the app. The app will be available to Android and iOS i.e. Apple consumers by the end of this month.
Exercise to stop tax evasion
The official said that this lottery scheme has been thought to encourage customers to ask for bill/receipt of every purchase from shops. This will help in preventing GST theft. The official said that there will be no such limit to participate in this lottery whether the receipt is minimum or maximum of any fixed amount.
In the lottery, the first winner will get a bumper prize of Rs 1 crore. It will be announced by the Department of Revenue. Second and third winners will also be elected at the state level.
Where will the money come from?
The money for this lottery will come from fines in cases of profiteering. The GST Act provides for action against profiteering. In this money of punishment is kept in the Consumer Welfare Fund.
